How to Install XNSPY on Android

You will need physical access to install XNSPY on an Android device. You do not need to root an Android to access XNSPY features such as reading WhatsApp notifications and recording calls.

These are the steps that I followed during my testing when I installed XNSPY software on my child’s Samsung A33 with the Android 13 operating system.

You need to take the following steps:

1. Create an Account
   I first visited the XNSPY website and created an account.

   Once my account was set up, I chose the type of device that I wanted to monitor, which in my case, was an Android device.
   
2. Install XNSPY on the Target Device
   Before installing the XNSPY tracking app on any device, you need a stable internet connection. Go to the XNSPY website to obtain the app’s download link by scanning a QR code using the target Android device.
   
3. Disable Play Protect
   After downloading the app, you will need to turn off Play Protect in the Google Play Store to enable the installation of XNSPY on Android devices.
   
   You will also receive a warning that says the app may harm the device. This is because monitoring apps are in a gray area and are not readily available in app stores. Accept the warning and proceed with the download.
   
4. Install the App
   Access the downloads from the device’s browser and click Install. The download takes around one minute to complete.
   
5. Configure the App
   You will then need to configure the app. Open XNSPY and allow keylogger tracking.
   
   Next, go to Settings > Accessibility > Play Services > and click on Allow.
   A new window will open. Click “Install XNSPY” automatically to allow the app to grant permissions. These include granting notifications to the target device. You have the option to deny notification settings if desired. Finally, allow the “Install unknown apps” from Play Services by navigating to Settings > Apps > Play Services and clicking Allow.
   
6. Complete Configuration
   Allow the remaining XNSPY permissions, and the app will complete the configuration process automatically. Then, return to the XNSPY website and click on all the prompts until you reach the finish stage.
   
7. Access the XNSPY Dashboard
   On the last stage, click “Done” to open the parental control user interface. You have successfully installed XNSPY on the target Android device. You can begin monitoring the device remotely using the XNSPY parental control panel.

How to Install XNSPY on iPhone

I also attempted to install the XNSPY application on an iPhone. In order to complete the installation process and gain access to most of the app’s features, I needed physical access to the target device, the corresponding iCloud login credentials, and the screen passcode.

You need to take the following steps:

1. Create an Account
   This involves providing a valid email address and agreeing to the terms of service.
   
2. Choose a Device
   Since I was installing XNSPY on my iPhone 12, I selected an Apple device from the available options.
   
3. Install XNSPY on Target iPhone
   To install XNSPY on the targeted iPhone device, I had physical access to my iPhone 12 and needed to complete the configuration process before downloading the app.
   
   Prior to downloading XNSPY, I scanned a QR code that opened a link in the Safari browser, allowing me to download the app’s file.
   
4. Set Up XNSPY
   Once I completed the configuration and download process, I proceeded to set up XNSPY. I navigated to “General” > “About” > “Certificate Trust Settings” located at the bottom of my iPhone screen. From there, I enabled the “iCloud Security” toggle, granting the app access to view the phone’s data.
   After this step, the XNSPY tool was able to sync the data, and all I had to do was log in to my XNSPY dashboard and click the “Get Data” icon. This opened the next tab on my dashboard, which contained all the features such as calls, location, web history, and messages. The entire process took approximately 3 minutes to complete.

Note: it’s important to note that certain features, such as WhatsApp, messages, and calls, may not immediately provide the required data after logging in. To access this data, you might need to complete an additional step of backing up the target iPhone and providing the iCloud credentials and password. If still not successful, you can try contacting the support team, they are always online and quick to respond.

Is XNSPY Detectable?

XNSPY is designed to operate in stealth mode on the target’s device. During my experimenting with it, the app operated discreetly in the background without notifications that could alert the target user that their phone was being monitored.

This ensures that the app’s monitoring activities remain hidden. However, I noticed that XNSPY created a screencast on top of the phone.

While this icon may go unnoticed by younger kids, tweens and teens are likely to find it unnerving, leading them to want to find its meaning. Thus, a child may return the phone to its original factory settings if they can’t determine the cause of the screencast icon.

Furthermore, on iPhone devices, the app was generally undetectable. However, there was a VPN icon that occasionally appeared on top of the iPhone control center. This feature could potentially interfere with some of the app’s functionality. If discovered and subsequently uninstalled, it may disrupt the phone monitoring process.

How to Uninstall XNSPY

Since XNSPY is a sophisticated phone monitoring app, uninstalling is not straightforward. This is because the app’s icon is hidden, and the app’s name changes once you install it. However, you can still uninstall XNSPY.

First, go to the target device’s Settings > Accessibility > Installed Apps. Click on Play Services and turn it off. Navigate back to Settings > Apps > Play Services. You can uninstall XNSPY by clicking “uninstall” on the “Play Services” app.

To finalize the uninstallation process, go to the XNSPY website and access the settings on your profile. Scroll down to “unlink device.” Enter the device’s name, then click disconnect. It will prompt you to enter your account’s password and then proceed to uninstall the device from XNSPY completely.

Calls & Messages – Scores 9/10

With the XNSPY app, I could monitor call logs and messages on the target device. XNSPY showed the phone logs, including the phone number, whether it was an incoming or outgoing call, and when it started. There was also an option to block a specific phone number.

The XNSPY displayed the contact’s name, the chat logs, the person’s last message, and the last message sent to that contact. Moreover, I could also block the phone number from sending and receiving text messages from a specific phone number.

However, the text message feature is not identical when monitoring an iPhone. Certain functionalities such as blocking the sender were not available, and some sender names were not displayed. Nevertheless, the feature was still useful in determining the messages that were received and sent by the target device.

Social Media Monitoring – Scores 8/10

During my testing, XNSPY’s social media monitoring allowed me to track activities on Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Tinder, and Telegram, among others. On Facebook and Instagram, XNSPY showed the posts and comments viewed and the time they were viewed.

The app also took screenshots of the videos watched on Tiktok and Snapchat. It revealed the time the videos were watched.

However, for iPhones, there are very limited social media apps that can be monitored. During my testing, the only app I could monitor was the WhatsApp.

XNSPY’s social media monitoring feature allowed me to get an update on my child’s online interactions. My findings show that it can be an invaluable tool for parents and employers to detect potential risks and inappropriate behavior.

Location Tracking – Scores 8/10

XNSPY’s location tracking feature showed the exact location of the Android phone I was tracking. It displayed the location in longitude and latitude, and I could also see the exact location on a map. In addition, the app showed the phone’s location with an estimated accuracy. Thus, I knew whether the pinpointed location was correct.

On the other hand, the location tracking feature on an iPhone did not provide the exact location address. However, the feature still provided coordinates and a convenient link to Google Maps, which made it effortless to get a sense of the precise location.

XNSPY could track the browser history on the target phone. I viewed the URLs of websites and the time they were visited. XNSPY also allowed me to block any of the websites. Other features from the internet history included bookmarks on the Android phone.

XNSPY also acted as an email tracking app. It monitored emails from Proton Mail, AOL, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, and many others.

Another internet monitoring feature that I liked was Wi-Fi network logs. XNSPY showed the Wi-Fi connection history, where the phone connected to that particular Wi-Fi, and the time stamp for each Wi-Fi login.

Media Tracking – Scores 7.5/10

When I tested XNSPY, it gave me access to all the photos and videos stored on the target device. I could see when each photo and video was created and its name. XNSPY allowed me to download any files stored on the monitored device.

However, when I tested XNSPY on an iPhone, I encountered a limitation with the media tracking feature. Although the feature was available, it did not sync or retrieve any photos or videos from the iPhone.

XNSPY’s alert feature tracked keywords that I needed to monitor. Whenever the phrases were used, the app could alert me via email that those words were used in any of the apps, including the browser and social media apps. The app also alerted me when specific locations were detected.

This feature helped me to learn about any suspicious or untimely activities on my kid’s device and take timely action.

With XNSPY, I could send certain commands to the target device and implement specific restrictions. For example, I could remotely lock the device, wipe data, and block specific websites and apps. I got control over the device, allowing me to enhance my device rules.
